HOW RIO VISTA, CALIFORNIA BECAME A WORLD CLASS SAILING PLACE

(if you have information that we can use to fill in the history of windsurfing in Rio Vista, please contact Windcraft. Thanks)

In the early days of windsurfing in Rio Vista there was more than just one "channel run." Each run had its own unique name: Channel Runs were downwind runs against the current; Short Runs were from Sherman Island to Pumphouse; Classic Runs were from Sherman Island to Windy Cove (these are now more often referred to as river runs); a challenging run that was regularly done by very few sailors was from Glass Beach to the Access and back.
